Responsible for development and coordination of an acquisitions program for a successful, independent, and specialized trade book publisher; management of the book production process from the editorial phase through design and pre-press and subsequently through manufacturing; development and oversight of editorial and production budgets; collaboration with marketing and publicity colleagues in conception of promotional materials and strategy; and intensive developmental editing for more than seventy book projects. From May, 1994, through February, 2000, I was Chelsea Green's Editor-in-Chief.

Selected to be one of three poets to participate in "The Poet Next Door," a program for Vermont high school students funded by the Readers' Digest Foundation, 2001-2002; Artist Professional Development Grant, Vermont Arts Council, 1999; Writing residencies, Vermont Studio Center, 1996, 1998, 1999; Citation of Achievement (one of two editors so honored), Coordinating Council of Literary Magazines, 1986; nominated for a Pushcart Prize in poetry, 1984 and 1986; Individual Artist's Grant, New Hampshire Commission on the Arts, 1984; Working Scholar, Bread Loaf Writers Conference, 1983. At Dartmouth College: Sidney Cox Prize (poetry), Lockwood Award (poetry), Alexander Laing Writing Award (poetry), Aronowitz Award (community service), two fellowships from the Tucker Foundation (community service), and election as Class Orator for commencement.
