Jim Schley is the author of a chapbook of poems, One Another (Chapiteau Press, 1999).
He was editor and contributor to the book Writing in a Nuclear Age (University Press of New England, 1984, second printing 1985).
A poem by Jim Schley has been featured on Garrison Keillor's Public Radio International show, The Writer's Almanac, and in Keillor's book Good Poems (Viking Penguin, 2002). He has also been a contributor to a number of books, including Best Spiritual Writing 2000 (HarperCollins, 2000), The New Settler Interviews: Boogie on the Brink (Chelsea Green, 2000), Heartbeat of New England: Contemporary Nature Poetry (Tiger Moon, 2000), The Solar Living Sourcebook (Real Goods, 1999), Mortgage Free: Radical Strategies for Home Ownership (Chelsea Green, 1998), Articulations: The Body and Illness in Poetry (Iowa University Press, 1995), and The Nightmare Considered: Critical Studies of Nuclear War Literature (Bowling Green University Press, 1991), and the forthcoming The Breath of Parted Lips Volume II (CavanKerry, 2003).
Schley's poems and essays have appeared in magazines including Orion, Rivendell, Vermont, Ironwood, Crazyhorse, North by Northeast, Northern Woodlands, and New England Review.
As an active book reviewer, Schley has been a regular contributor to Vermont Public Radio's magazine North by Northeast as well as Northern Woodlands magazine and the Sunday books section of The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette newspaper.
