Someone has constructed the annual "summer bridge" at the shallowest neck between the lagoon and the lower mill pond.
The lower mill pond (pictured below) sometimes has a bridge across -- built by storms with the last of the mill deck underpinings -- but not this year. This year's storms undermined the old brick wall. The mill straddled the creek here, and drew some of it power from a dam where the trees start.

The old right of way between Caspar and Pine Grove gets overgrown with a thornless berry. It looks impassable, but walkers and deer can press right through. Here Rochelle peeks back to see if I've gotten lost. | ![]() |
